Nigeria Super Eagles have defeated Congo 2-0 in AFCON qualifiers match. The Super Eagles were on the brink of not qualifying for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations following their poor start in the qualifying campaign. With four points in four games, the Eagles were condemned to record a win in today’s away clash against Congo.. With the duo of IK Uche and Emanuel Emenike leading the Nigeria attack, Nigeria Eagles fought their way back to reckoning.
Anything short of victory would have meant the Eagles not been able to defend the title they won last year in South Africa. The result moves Nigeria into second place, with goal difference pushing them ahead of Congo heading into the final round of games in Group A.
