Nigeria wins Africa Women Championship in Namibia


The Nigerian national women’s team,  Super Falcons, have reclaimed the African title for a record seventh time after they beat their Cameroonian counterparts 2-0 on Saturday in Windhoek, Namibia.

The Falcons won all their matches in the tournament scoring 16 goals and conceding just three goals in the process. Nigeria will now proceed to the Canada 2015 World Cup as African champion.

Nigerian striker Desire Oparanozie won the golden boots award after scoring five goals. Ngo Ndom from Cameroon won best goal keeper award while Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala was voted the Most Valuable Player.
