NDE trains 147 unemployed graduates in Ekiti

ekitiThe National Directorate of Employment on Thursday said it had trained 147 unemployed graduates on the rudiments of modern agricultural practice in Ekiti State, Nigeria.

The NDE Coordinator in the state, Mrs Adeola Shafaru, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ado-Ekiti that the beneficiaries were trained in crop production, crop processing and preservation.

According to her, the training is designed to make those affected become self-employed as well as play the role of employers of labour. Those that are selected for the programme are the ones who have proved beyond doubts that they are ready to join government to wipe away poverty and reduce high rate of unemployment.

Shafaru commended Gov. Kayode Fayemi, for his support and creating an enabling environment for the directorate to perform its duties. She assured that the state government and the agency would not relent in creating employment opportunities for unemployed youths in Ekiti.
