Nigerian Navy marks 57th Anniversary

The Nigerian Navy has started a week long celebration to mark its 57th year anniversary. The event which started on Friday, 24th of May will hold in all the commands of the Nigerian Navy till Saturday, 1st June May 2013.

The Director, Nigerian Navy Protestant Chaplaincy, Lieutenant Commander Godshelp Osaghae stated that the Nigerian Navy wants citizens to imbibe the spirit of true repentance and to work towards promoting the transformation and improved security of the nation.

According to the Chief of Naval Staff, the issue of training has continued to receive priority attention in the scheme of things under his watch. Ezeoba said officers and ratings were continuously attending courses, seminars and symposia within and outside the country.

He said “Navy Ships will be opened to visitors on May 29, and on the same day, there will be special medical rhapsody in host communities. “On the evening of June 1, there will be Ceremonial Sunset and Cocktail party as the ceremonial sunset is one of the oldest and most significant naval ceremonies to conclude days of special importance.’’
